6sIQ Rating System Explained
An introduction to the exciting system!
The EASHL community is slowly becoming more and more of a structured esport. As the stakes get higher, so too does the demand for the ability to showcase a player or teams skill and progression against their competition. I am extremely proud to announce the new version of the WIN rating, exclusively found here on 6sIQ. While this formula has been around the community for some time, it will officially be 100% visible to the public for the first time in it’s history
With the concept coming from some of the most popular esports sites in the world, it was only natural for the rating system to fully utilize the capability of 6sIQ to evolve into something that can become a staple in the scene. The rating system also allows players to compare their skills in relation to others in the community, giving them a clear idea of where they stand in relation to their peers. This can be a powerful motivator for players who want to improve and compete at the highest levels. This can also be used as a great metric from a media and spectator standpoint. The rating allows to take a deeper dive into the top performing players during an event other than looking at just points or wins.
To give an explanation without divulging too much about the details, the 6sIQ rating system takes into account all stats pulled from a particular game, and weighs them in order of importance depending on your position. Your rating is determined by your performance compared to the average player in said stat. An average player will come out to a 1.00 rating, with better performances going higher than that, while below average performances falling below the 1.00 threshold. A good comparison of this system could be the GAR/WAR system you see in traditional sports.
Overall, the player rating system on this esports website is a big step forward for the industry. By taking multiple stats and creating an all-in-one rating from a custom formula, the website is providing players with a concrete measurement of their skills and abilities. This will not only help players improve, but it will also create a more competitive and engaging esports community. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this feature is sure to be a valuable addition to any player's toolkit.
